June has loved sewing
since the age of 17 when she begged the Sewing
Teacher at high school to allow her to skip
lunch and study hall and spend the time learning
the basics of sewing. Hand sewing had been her
favorite form of relaxation until her husband,
Chris, purchased a top of the line
sewing/embroidery machine for her. At the same
time June was introduced to the varied
techniques of heirloom sewing. Combining
heirloom sewing techniques and embroidery
allowed her to begin making garments, quilts and
home dec projects to be treasured by her family
for generations to come. In 2000, she was
invited to teach at her local Husqvarna Viking
Dealer where she began teaching Sewing machine
classes as well as various project
classes with an emphasis on Heirloom
Sewing.(Click on my newsletter for available

Change
of Heart Heirloom Pillow
This
pillow is really two in one! The beautiful
triangular flaps can be tied on one side to
reveal a pretty heart appliqué with machine
embroidery in the center. Flip the triangles to
the other side, and you have a treatment with
rickrack bridging lace. The top and the bottom
of the pillow can be made with two different
colors of fabric, making the pillow really look
like two different versions! The triangular
flaps are tied with double pieces of
ribbon.
