Simon's Folly
Simon's Folly is a quilt designed by Jenny Haskin's son, Simon. This is an embroidered quilt which teaches placement through the use of templates. Decorative stitches are added to complete the blocks and bring unity to the embroidery designs. June will begin teaching classes in Simon's Folly starting August 2007.   | Basic Sewing
Learn the basics of sewing or brush up on forgotten skills. This class will include learning your machine, types of threads and fabrics, pattern reading, sewing terminology, sewing tips and more. In this class we will be constructing two simple projects. Come and learn how fun and rewarding sewing can be. This class is taught at the Community Education level in Fall and Winter Semesters. Autumn Leaf Appliqué Table Runner
This class gives the appliqué technique a new twist. We will be applying leaves of gold mesh ribbon onto our fabric to create a beautiful autumn table runner. Drawn Thread Towel
Drawn Thread work was traditionally done by hand but today we have wonderful sewing machine stitches to make this technique fast and easy. In this class we will be pulling threads and using various decorative stitches to make a beautiful Drawn Thread Towel. This class is for all machines that have many delightful decorative stitches.
| Lace Shaped Heart Table runner
In this class we will be making a beautiful heirloom table runner with lace-shaped hearts in the corners and three entwined hearts in the center. Lace shaping looks hard but is very easy and is for every machine. The lace is applied using a zigzag stitch or the entredeux stitch on the computerized machines. A scallop stitch is required for edging the table runner. Using many of the beginning Heirloom sewing techniques, this puffing pillow features the embellishments placed diagonally. Puffing is in the center with entredeux, lace insertion, entredeux and a set of three pintucks on each side. The ruffle has French lace around the edge.

Madeira Bonnet
This sweet little bonnet is surprisingly easy to make. The front edge of the brim is finished with a double-scalloped Madeira border and is attached to the body of the bonnet with entredeux. The body is gathered to the entredeux and gathered lace edging embellishes the joining seam. Narrow silk satin ribbon is run through a back casing, making the size adjustable, and two tiny little silk satin ribbon bows attach the wider ribbon ties.
| Change of Heart Heirloom Pillow
This pillow is really two in one! The beautiful triangular flaps can be tied on one side to reveal a pretty heart appliqué with machine embroidery in the center. Flip the triangles to the other side, and you have a treatment with rickrack bridging lace. The top and the bottom of the pillow can be made with two different colors of fabric, making the pillow really look like two different versions! The triangular flaps are tied with double pieces of ribbon.
